New Project / New Tooling
To help us accurately quote your new die-cast part and tooling, please provide:
- 3D part model: STEP, STP, Parasolid, or native CAD file
- 2D part drawing: PDF showing dimensions, tolerances, critical features, and revision level
- Material requirements: Aluminum or zinc alloy, required alloy grade, material specifications, and approved alternatives
- Production volumes: Estimated annual usage, order quantities, and expected program life
- Part requirements: Critical dimensions, cosmetic surfaces, surface finish, texture, pressure-tightness, and mechanical requirements
- Tooling expectations: Number of cavities, expected tool life, replaceable inserts, slides or core pulls, trim die requirements, and preferred tooling standards
- Secondary operations: Trimming, deburring, machining, drilling, tapping, impregnation, shot blasting, polishing, coating, plating, assembly, or special packaging
- Quality requirements: Inspection plans, capability studies, PPAP level, porosity limits, leak testing, material certifications, and other testing requirements
- Program timing: Target sample date, qualification date, and production launch
- Reference parts: Photos, prototypes, or physical samples when available
Helpful tip: Clearly identify critical dimensions, cosmetic surfaces, porosity limits, leak requirements, and areas where design changes are restricted.
Transfer Project / Existing Tooling
To help us evaluate an existing die-casting tool for transfer, please provide:
- Current part files: Latest 3D model and controlled 2D drawing
- Tool drawings: Die assembly drawings, component drawings, bill of materials, trim die drawings, and hydraulic or electrical schematics
- Tool specifications: Die dimensions, weight, number of cavities, gating and runner design, slides or core pulls, cooling circuits, and required connections
- Current process information: Setup sheets, cycle time, machine tonnage, shot weight, metal temperature, die temperature, intensification pressure, cooling requirements, spray settings, and automation needs
- Material information: Aluminum or zinc alloy, required alloy grade, material specifications, and approved alternatives
- Production history: Annual volume, typical order quantities, cycle time, scrap rate, and current capacity requirements
- Tool history: Die age, estimated shot count, maintenance records, repairs, weld history, replacement inserts, modifications, and known concerns
- Quality history: Inspection reports, capability data, PPAP documentation, open corrective actions, porosity concerns, leak-test results, and recurring defects
- Recent samples: Current production parts, last-shot samples, photos, and recent dimensional reports
- Transfer details: Current tool location, ownership confirmation, availability date, and desired production start
- Supporting equipment: Trim dies, fixtures, gauges, end-of-arm tooling, spray equipment, extractors, spare inserts, and other equipment included in the transfer
Helpful tip: Existing tooling should be inspected before production timing is finalized. Recent samples, process documentation, and maintenance records help us identify repair or qualification needs early.
Recommended File Types
